Dr Playfair received his medical degree from the University of Calgary in 2004. He did his family medicine residency at the University of Alberta and his GP anesthesia training from the University of Calgary. He also has his Sports Medicine Diploma from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

 

David practiced rural family medicine and anesthesia for over 10 years prior to joining the CAPRI Clinic in 2016. Since then he has received much additional training in assessing and treating chronic musculoskeletal conditions, in particular spine conditions. Working with Dr Burnham and being mentored by him has allowed him to get experience in all types of musculoskeletal and spine interventions. He does imaged guided procedures with both ultrasound and flourscopy.

 

He also has training and particular interests in prolotherapy, PRP, and sports and exercise medicine. He also continues to do some rural emergency medicine.

 

When not working, David most enjoys spending time working on his hobby farm, hiking, fishing, camping and spending time with his wife and 5 children.
